My daughter started Get2Act camp the summer she was nine with Godspell, Jr. It being my all time favorite musical, we were both really excited. I had no idea how much the children would learn and accomplish in the two week period they had. I was stunned! It could not have been a more polished and professional piece of work done by kids that age. We also met a fantastic group of people, the directors are supportive, the kids outgoing and mature. Lindsay said at that time, “This is the best thing I’ve ever done”. Three years later, and she now has six productions with the group under her belt, and she won’t miss any. We even gave up one of our beach vacations this year! Lindsay has been studying Dance and performing on stage since the age of two, but learned most of what she knows about Musical Theater from this Company. She has grown both personally and as a performer, learning to step outside of her comfort zone in roles. She was cast as a lead after her auditions in her last two productions. After Sweeney Todd, a woman in the row behind me tapped me on the shoulder and said, “Your daughter has quite a future ahead of her”. I couldn’t be happier with this group of directors, choreographers and performers. And if you asked Lindsay again, I’m sure she’d say, This is STILL the best thing I’ve ever done!

Initially I signed up my daughter, Eryn, for her first Get2Act camp three years ago to fill a two-week gap in her summer care.  The production was Aladdin Jr., and my husband and I weren’t expecting much from a cast of kids varying in age and talent with only two short weeks to prepare.  We couldn’t have been more wrong.  We were blown away opening night.  In just two weeks, these kids not only learned how to put on a professional play with props and lighting, but also numerous songs, choreographed dance routines, make-up and costuming…all that goes into a theater production.  It was a lot of hard work, but a fun and educational experience!  Since Aladdin Jr., Eryn has attended Get2Act every summer and has performed in Annie Jr., Into the Woods Jr., and The Music Man Jr.  Each production has been better than the one before, and Eryn has grown so much individually.  The pride she feels after each performance is a testament to the dedicated staff of Ms. Katie (Artistic Director), Mr. Baldwin (Founder of Get2Act), and Ms. Stacie (Dance Instructor).  Their commitment and dedication to empowering every child to unleash their imagination and gain confidence through theater is an experience not to be missed.  Eryn has learned so much and made many friends these last few years.  She looks forward to continuing in Get2Act productions.
